Meet Fabulous Freya! This stunning & impressive girl is looking for a very special home. Freya is a beautiful dog who is on something of a personal journey to healing. She will form a very strong attachment to her person, but she requires a lot of time, patience & understanding. Freya grew up in a backyard & saw nothing of the outside world. She was very frightened when she first came into shelter & did not want to interact with people. After many hours of sitting with her, talking gently & feeding her treats, she began to trust us. Then, once she realised that she was safe, she became very strongly bonded to members of staff. Once this beautiful girl knows & trusts you, she will follow you to the ends of the earth & beyond. For this very reason, we are looking for a home where she will be allowed to live indoors with her family. She deserves the absolute best & we will be vetting prospective owners carefully to ensure that it is the right match for everyone. Freya would most likely suit a home where she is the only dog. She tolerates other dogs would prefer to be the sole receiver of love, fuss & attention in the house! She is slowly getting used to going for short walks but can, at times, feel a bit overwhelmed with sudden changes in her environment. The key to building her confidence is to give her choice & not to force her into situations that make her uncomfortable. Creating positive associations with new situations & people will go a long way in helping her progress.Freya needs a home with secure fencing, a high-quality diet & regular veterinary visits to keep her up to date with vaccinations & parasite control. Freya resides in a quieter area of the Bundaberg shelter & is not living in our Adoptions Zone. If you wish to have a meet & greet, feel free to pop in & speak to staff or call us to arrange one. She will, most likely need more than 1 meet prior to adoption in order to start building a bond. She is wary of strangers.Once you build a bond with Freya, she will only have eyes for you! Can you handle that much love?!
